It’s the Little Things!

I consider myself a very fortunate person. At the ripe old age of almost 65, I can safely say that all the really big goals I had for myself when I was younger (living in the tropics under my own roof with family, pets and a large garden) have come to pass. In addition to all that good stuff, I find myself in very good health and looking forward to many more years on Earth. Hopefully Covid-19 and the current state of the world politics will soon subside and life can return to normal.

We are still on restrictive social distancing guidelines and it is not likely that these will end soon. We are all looking forward to peace and a real commitment from everyone to correct the wrongs that have taken place for so many centuries against everyone who is not part of the elite groups in whatever country we are talking about. Elitism is present worldwide and it is time for people of integrity and real value to stand up, acknowledge the wrongs and lead the way towards a more just society.

But getting into the politics of the thing is not the purpose of this blog or this post. I actually just want to share that I have the best DIL possible and she sent me a picture today of a wall in their home that displays the many pets she and my son have had in the past. It was lovely to see four of our pets, three are now gone to dog heaven. It was a lovely gesture and an example of why my son was so taken by her when they first met. It is a relief to me to know that my child has found a partner who treasures him. After all, that’s what we as parents always hope for our children.

And in following the thread in my daily journey, today our lovely owl is back and allowed me to take its picture!
